Within two seminar weeks, two chairs at ETH Zürich developed a series of umbrella-like roofs for the Kernstrasse school in Zürich. In close collaboration with the City of Zürich a steel construction from 15 single roofs was designed. The rain water is drained from roof to roof. In the second week the design was accomplished at a professional workshop. During the course the students could learn all kinds of metal processing: Laser cutting, CNC-bending, plasma cutting, welding.
